Political Self-Segregation

Start A New Life Free Of Liberals With ‘Conservative Move’” — Vice News, 2019, 6:06https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ANfAR2Kjow

What would it be like to live in a town where everyone shares the same political ideology? This new town in Texas markets itself as a conservative paradise free of liberals, democrats, and social justice warriors. The company behind the project is called Conservative Move and business appears to be booming. We get to look inside this intentional community and hear residents express their frustrations with the progressive left. Where else have we seen a similar form of self-segregation? Are there any liberal versions of this concept? Some of this appears to resemble countercultural communes, but in my honest opinion, this is simply a sequel to gated communities.

From the video’s description: You can’t pick your family, but you can pick your friends. And if they start to vote differently than you, some families are willing to pick up, leave and find new friends. Sick of states that permit legal marijuana? Same-sex marriages? Laws that permit transgender people to use the bathroom of their choice? What if there were a better way? Last year, VICE News went to McKinney, Texas to check out "Conservative "Move" - a real estate company that says it has the solution to living a life free of liberals. They’ll try to find you a place to live, a job with a decent wage, and the best schools for your children, in Texas or any other Republican stronghold.
